Happy Earth Day "Week"!

To celebrate Earth Day, each student at SRS wrote facts or poems about trees on a flower which helped our recycled newspaper tree to bloom! We started with the tree on the right, but as flowers were being place on the wall, it just kept growing and growing. Isn't it wonderful? :)

5th Grade African Inspired Masks

Fifth graders have been working diligently on creating African inspired paper mache masks. Their mask was constructed out of cardboard strips and masking tape, followed by paper mache. This week students used paint and model magic to create horns, facial features, hair, and any other decorative features to enhance the form of their mask. Here they are in action!
